Internships

The Master of Public Affairs Program at Washington State University Vancouver is closing and will not be accepting any new students.

All graduate students, except those with previous public service work experience, are required to complete an internship of at least three credits. The internship may be taken any semester during your academic program.

There are no course prerequisites. You must propose an internship to the program leader or your thesis committee chair identifying the location of the internship, the name of the field supervisor, expected accomplishments and anticipated benefits. With the committee chair’s signed approval, the internship coordinator will enroll you in Pol S 597. Additional requirements include documentation of the experience in journal format, and in many cases an additional written report.
